According to the Daily Mail,Louise Dearman is set to return as Elphaba in the London production of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria from Oct. 29.

Dearman played Elphaba’s foil Glinda in the show through December 2011. Now that she is taking on the other lead, she will be the first actress to play both starring roles in the musical.
Dearman has also appeared on the West End in Kiss Me, Kate. She toured with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as the Narrator in the late ’90s, then as Jan in the 2000 Grease UK tour,Lucy Harrisin the national tour of Jekyll and Hyde,Sarah Brownin the tour of Guys and Dolls, Eva Perón in the tour of Evita, and Grizabella in a Cyprus production of Cats. She has also appeared in three pantomime versions of Cinderella. Dearman launched her new album “Here Comes The Sun” this May, and participated in the workshop for a new musical comedy version of Peter Pan this June.
Wicked, the hit musical now in its sixth year at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre, has won numerous major UK awards since its West End premiere in 2006 including the 2011 Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Night Out, the 2010 Oliver Award for Most Popular Show, 8 Whatsonstage.com Awards including Best New Musical (2007) and Best West End Show (in both 2011 and 2010) and the 2009 Visit London Award for Best Family Fun.
There are seven productions of Wicked playing concurrently around the world, including the original production in New York. Wicked has been seen by 30 million people worldwide and grossed almost $2.5 billion.
Based on the novel by Gregory Maquire, Wicked has music and lyrics byStephen Schwartz, a book byWinnie Holzmanand is directed byJoe Mantello.
