I’m sure we all know how Elphaba defies gravity in Wicked - But here’s what it looks like without the lights, smoke, costumes etc. This was my very first youtube upload on my old account over 3 years ago! It has now got over 75,000 views. Wow!
According to the Daily Mail,Louise Dearman is set to return as Elphaba in the London production of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria from Oct. 29.
Read the original reporthere.
Dearman played Elphaba’s foil Glinda in the show through December 2011. Now that she is taking on the other lead, she will be the first actress to play both starring roles in the musical.
Dearman has also appeared on the West End in Kiss Me, Kate. She toured with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as the Narrator in the late ’90s, then as Jan in the 2000 Grease UK tour,Lucy Harrisin the national tour of Jekyll and Hyde,Sarah Brownin the tour of Guys and Dolls, Eva Perón in the tour of Evita, and Grizabella in a Cyprus production of Cats. She has also appeared in three pantomime versions of Cinderella. Dearman launched her new album “Here Comes The Sun” this May, and participated in the workshop for a new musical comedy version of Peter Pan this June.
Wicked, the hit musical now in its sixth year at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre, has won numerous major UK awards since its West End premiere in 2006 including the 2011 Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Night Out, the 2010 Oliver Award for Most Popular Show, 8 Whatsonstage.com Awards including Best New Musical (2007) and Best West End Show (in both 2011 and 2010) and the 2009 Visit London Award for Best Family Fun.
There are seven productions of Wicked playing concurrently around the world, including the original production in New York. Wicked has been seen by 30 million people worldwide and grossed almost $2.5 billion.

Is anyone interested in this? I was thinking of putting it on eBay but I think it would have more appeal here - It’s an ORIGINAL Ghost the Musical Poster.
It is signed by Caissie Levy, Richard Fleeshman, Andrew Langtree and Sharon D Clarke. I’m thinking of doing this as a kind of auction id anyone wants it - Comment with your offer and we’ll take it from there - you can also reblog and comment with your offer. I will not sell for any less than £6
The only reason I am doing this is to fund a trip to see Wicked again before Nikki leaves so pleaseeee help me out followers?
The most emotional No Good Deed I have ever heard.
For those who aren’t aware, during Sho’s time in Wicked, her boyfriend Tyler was killed in a car crash. She battled through it like the trooper she is, but this audio was recorded from their anniversary a few weeks after the accident. I don’t know, I think it’s amazing, but I feel bad for saying that it’s one of the best NGD’s I’ve heard because of the circumstances. What do you think?
Edit: Or rumour has it…. (Before it starts a big argument)
Louise Dearman - No One Mourns The Wicked (Last)
I don’t think I will ever NOT miss Louise, but I am starting to accept that she isn’t coming back now. This was my 18th time seeing Wicked and was possibly my favourite show other than Deej Day 2010. Louise and Rachel were both spectacular. Her last “THE WICKED DIE ALONEEE” sent chills down my spine. Amazing.
Donna Vivino - Defying Gravity
One of my favourite “So if you care to find me, look to the western sky” riffs!
I absolutely love recordings of the show when the orchestra really shine.
Caissie Levy - Defying Gravity (Megan Hilty is Glinda)
I never really listen to the whole of DG. Usually just skip to the climax (Unless I’m at the show of course) but I absolutely love this version. I think I prefer the build up to the climax.
I’ve never really listened to any Caissie Levy Wicked stuff. But she sounds phenomenal here! The little riffs here and there are astounding. “But ‘til I try I’ll never know - too long I’ve been afraid of losing love, I guess I’ve lost - Well If that’s love! It comes at much to higher cost” in this video is the best I’ve heard from any Elphaba
Ever wondered what happens when Elphaba DOESN’T Defy Gravity?
This is a video of the Asian tour production With Jemma Rix as Elphaba and Suzie Mathers as Glinda.
