What I would give to undo what a mess I have caused,
What I could sacrifice to find what once was lost.
There’s so much I wish I could say, so much I could do,
I wish I could risk it all for another night with you.
Galinda, please understand, you know I can’t come back.
You need someone to provide the things that I lack.
You’ll never be happy, not with this Wicked ole Witch…
Use your magic, climb over this hill, get over this glitch.
I wish I could convince you that our love isn’t true,
But that is something I’ll never be able to do.
Please, Galinda, don’t cry anymore, I do love you.
But, go now, sweet, get in the cab and don’t be a fool.
From Glinda to Elphaba
No amount of magic in the world can turn back time,
No spell I can cast could possibly make you mine.
There is no chant I could word to make everything right,
For I know, once again, I’ll be sleeping alone tonight.
I’d give anything to see you just for a little longer,
Absence of you, Elphaba, has made my grief stronger.
Not a smile has been brought to my puffy pink cheeks,
No makeup could hardly cover these tearful streaks.
No witch could hold a candle to you, don’t you see?
I wish nothing more than for you to be here with me.
Everyday without you, I grow a little more weak,
Elphaba, we’ll meet again, please, hold out my sweet
